We tried The Fulton, a seafood restaurant located on Pier 17. The patio is beautiful and boasts views of Brooklyn and three bridges.

The service was excellent, prompt, and friendly. While a water carafe was left at our table, we never once had to fill an empty glass ourselves.
It was clear The Fulton took great care in shucking the oysters. There was not a wayward shell to be found and the oyster slid right off the shell. Both kids have a newfound love for oysters … Little crushed 4 today!

For the past month, little has been asking for octopus every time we pass the seafood counter. I have zero experience cooking octopus, so my answer has been “Let’s try it at a restaurant.” Fulton did not disappoint. The octopus was tender and the mozzarella added a touch of creaminess and balanced the lemon.

The kids split a burger. It was creatively accompanied by a side of au jus. The burger itself was delicious (dare I say Top 10 burger in NYC!?!), and the fries were crunchy.

The fish tacos were respectable. Neither the shell or fish breading became soggy, even with the generous dressing on the cabbage. And the dressing had just the right amount of heat.

The lobster roll was better than expected. The celery was chunky and added a nice layer of texture.

For another outstanding patio, check-out Liberty Bistro.
Update from FEB 2022: In our most recent trip, we discovered The Fulton has an upstairs that delivers panoramic views similar to the patio. This is an excellent option when a climate controlled atmosphere is helpful.
